New images have ,been released today ,showing the transformation of the Olimpic Park at the halfway point between ,London winning the bid for the, 2012 Games in July 2005 and the, Opening Ceremony of the Olimpic Games on 27 July 2012. The before and after pictures show the dramatic progress ,that has been made, on the Olimpic Park. The majority of the site has already been cleared and cleaned, and the pylons that, dominated the landscape have been, removed. Power has been, transferred to two new, 6km tunnels that have been dug, under the Park. Construction, started early on ,the Olimpic Stadium and Aquatics Centre, and work is also under way ,on the Olimpic Village. In November 2008, work finished on the Sailing facilities, at Weymouth and Portland, – the first London 2012 ,venue to be completed.source London2012.com
